Glossary

The terms of the HUMAT as the official documents use them, with the Turkish and Italian forms used on this site. The documents are in English; this page helps you read them in your own language.

The test.

Call for applicationsTRBaşvuru ilanıITBando
The official document that sets the rules, dates, places and fees of the admission test for one academic year.
RoundTRTurITRound
One of the two periods in which the test is offered each year. A candidate may sit once in each round, and the better score counts.
SectionTRBölümITSezione
One of the three timed parts of the test: SA, BC and MP. Each has its own clock and does not reopen once it has closed.
Reserve questionsTRYedek sorularITDomande di riserva
Six extra questions, one per subject, answered after the third section. One replaces a scored question only if that question is withdrawn.
NeutralisationTRSoru iptaliITNeutralizzazione
The withdrawal of a scored question found to be flawed. The reserve question in the same subject takes its place.

Scoring and ranking.

What a section’s questions are worth for each programme: +22, +16 or +10 for a right answer.
PenaltyTRYanlış cevap kesintisiITPenalità

OmitTRBoş bırakmakITOmettere
To leave a question unanswered, in the test with “I omit the answer”. An omitted question scores zero.

The list of candidates in order of score, drawn up separately for Medicine & Surgery and for MEDTEC.

The rule that orders candidates with the same score: the higher SA score for Medicine & Surgery or MP score for MEDTEC, then the higher BC score, then the younger candidate.
