The HUMAT

The exam, in brief.

  • 66 questions in four timed sections: 60 scored questions in 120 minutes, then 6 reserve questions in 12.
  • A wrong answer costs points, so accuracy matters as much as speed.
  • Each section has a minimum score. A score below it in any one section keeps a candidate out of the ranking, whatever the total.
  • The weighting depends on the programme: Scientific Thinking and reading count most for Medicine & Surgery, Mathematics and Physics for MEDTEC.

Progress

Following progress.

Your child’s Vettamed workspace shows the study plan, the work completed and results by section. The simplest routine is to look at it together once a week.

Your child can also invite you by email from their account and choose what to share. With results sharing on, they can send you the report of any full practice paper they complete. You see only what they share, and never the questions themselves.

Questions

Questions parents ask.

Is this an official Humanitas product?
No. Vettamed is independent. Its practice papers follow the published 2026 HUMAT structure, but the questions are written by Vettamed and are not official HUMAT questions.
Who pays, and how?
Plans are bought by card through our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, which issues the receipt and handles VAT. Access goes to the email address used at checkout, so use your child’s email or tell us which address they will sign in with.
What does my child need?
A Mac (macOS 12 or later) or a Windows 10 or 11 PC, and a quiet hour. The HUMAT itself is taken at home on a computer, in a locked-down exam browser, so practising in the desktop app is good preparation for the day.
Does Vettamed include tutoring?
No. It is a self-study system. If your child works with a tutor, the tutor can write to us about educator seats.
Can we get a refund?
No. Access begins the moment your purchase completes, and at checkout you agree to that immediate start, so a plan cannot be refunded once access has begun. Take the free calibration first to see how Vettamed works before you enrol.
How long does access last?
Three, six or twelve months from the day of purchase, depending on the plan, with nothing to cancel afterwards.
Who is behind Vettamed?
Vettamed was founded by a candidate who sat the HUMAT and was admitted to Humanitas Medicine & Surgery and MEDTEC. It is independent and not affiliated with Humanitas University.
