What you need.
- A desktop or laptop computer with a webcam, microphone and speakers, running Windows 10 (version 1803 or later) or 11, or macOS 11 to 26, with at least 120 MB free. Tablets, phones and virtual machines are not allowed.
- Administrator rights on that computer, so that Safe Exam Browser can run.
- A phone or tablet with the Zoom app installed (no account needed), with its camera and microphone working.
- A connection of at least 1 Mbps up and down for the computer, and at least 4G for the phone.
- A valid identity document.
Before the day.
- Install Safe Exam Browser from the Politecnico di Milano online services. In 2026 the download opened on 16 February.
- Take the official demo, which checks your computer, your phone and your connection. In 2026 it ran from 16 February to 4 March and from 9 to 17 March, 14:00 to 23:59 Italian time.
- Use the same computer on the day as in the demo.
- Suspend automatic system updates and enable JavaScript and cookies.
Your room and desk.
- A quiet, well-lit room, ideally with a single door, kept closed and in view of the phone camera.
- You must be alone in the room for the whole test.
- On the desk: your computer, blank paper, a pen and your ID. Nothing else.
- A shelf or stand beside you, about 1.5 metres from the desk and no higher than 1.5 metres, where the invigilator may ask you to place the phone.
- Clothes without pockets that could hide objects.
- The phone plugged in, or with at least three hours of battery.
On the day.
- One hour before the start, sign in to the Politecnico online services on your computer and join the Zoom virtual classroom from your phone with the QR code.
- Wait in the waiting room with camera and microphone on. Until you are admitted, you can only write in the chat.
- When admitted, show your ID next to your face, then show your desk and the room as the invigilator asks.
- When told to, start Safe Exam Browser with the code shown on screen. The invigilator starts the test for everyone; you open each following section yourself.
Rules during the test.
- No calculators, rulers, protractors, notes, books, phones or smartwatches, and no headphones, earphones, second screen, keyboard or mouse.
- You may not leave your desk or the room, including for the bathroom, and you may not speak to anyone.
- Camera and microphone stay on throughout.
- Blank paper and a pen are allowed for working. The technical guide asks for two sheets on the desk; the call allows up to five. The invigilator checks them at identification.
- To reach the invigilator, select the hand icon in the test window to open a text chat. The section clock stops while the chat is open.
- Breaking a rule can lead to your test being cancelled.
If you are disconnected.
Every confirmed answer is saved as you go. If your connection, your power or your computer fails, email admissions@hunimed.eu by 23:59 the same day, with evidence. The supervision committee decides whether you may sit the retake, which in 2026 was held on 24 March.
