This is a dated summary, not an application calendar. Calls, dates and places change every year: open the official source for your route and your candidate category before you act.
Humanitas: the HUMAT.
Humanitas runs two English-taught medical programmes, Medicine & Surgery and MEDTEC, and admits to both through one test: 60 questions in 120 minutes across three timed sections, plus six reserve questions. Each programme weights the sections differently and has its own ranking.
San Raffaele (UniSR).
San Raffaele, in Milan, runs an English-taught medical programme with its own entrance test, separate from the HUMAT and the IMAT. It publishes separate calls, dates and places for EU and non-EU candidates.
Cattolica (UniCatt).
Cattolica, in Rome, runs its own entrance test for its English-taught medical programme. For 2026/27 the published test had 65 multiple-choice questions on general knowledge, logic, biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics and ethical-religious culture.
The IMAT.
The IMAT is the national route into the English-taught programmes of Italy’s public universities. Its dates and procedure are set by national notices: check Universitaly and the current notice before relying on any date, format or quota. Vettamed does not prepare candidates for the IMAT.
